Habitat for Humanity
In the Fall of 2009, along with another student, I redesigned an existing Habitat for Humanity floor plan for homes. The floor plan needed to be updated in order to accommodate accessibility and universal design requirements. The original floor plan can be seen above.

Design Solutions
The new design incorporated 1070 square feet of living space. We were able to incorporate a porch with a ramp for a no-step entry as well as a large bathroom with a 5' diameter turning radius for a wheelchair. Other features of the plan include three bedrooms, a main-floor laundry space, an open kitchen, living room and dining area for ease of use.
